she lifted her head, her eyes shining
she caught his shadow on the windows as he walked past
his silhouette in the night darkness reflected through the thick steely glass frame
she imagined he looked back toward her
he could not see her, she could not see him
but she again willed him to look at her
tap on the window
return to her
her heart and hands shook
the lone tear fell to her clenched hand on the table.
the shadow moved on, away from her.
